History
Why Choose Fibrebond
In 1982, businessman Claud Walker founded Fibrebond after recognizing the emerging wireless communications industry’s need for strong, durable, aesthetic shelters to protect equipment. Just a few years’ later, the company’s growth required it to expand from a small site in Bossier City, La., to the current 180-acre site in Minden, La. At that point, Fibrebond focused on the development of panelized buildings to protect the emerging telecom industry’s sensitive equipment.
Today, Fibrebond specializes in the manufacturing of complex engineered-to-order solutions for use in data center, petrochemical, power and telecom markets.
A More Complete Solution
In 1991, Fibrebond began to provide telecom customers a more complete solution by offering equipment installation services. This provided customers with a more complete plug-and-play solution. In 1994, an Installation Center was built to receive, warehouse and install customer equipment into Fibrebond shelters.
In September 1998, fire completely destroyed the Minden manufacturing plant. Fibrebond shifted production outdoors and to other facilities without employees missing a single paycheck or a customer delivery. In 11 months, a new plant opened with advanced European concrete processing equipment, ushering Fibrebond into a new era of diversification, producing innovative precast concrete products used in K-12 schools and correctional facilities.
More than 50,000 Fibrebond units have been deployed and can be found in all 50 states and several foreign countries. We take great pride in playing a significant role in the build-out of the nation’s wireless telecommunications system, and with that same innovative spirit and customer focus, we develop new applications for the industries we serve today.
Further Expansion
In 2014, Fibrebond expanded its facility, creating 530,000 square feet of production space on 181 contiguous acres in Minden. Fibrebond is the only enclosure manufacturer with experience in concrete and steel structural systems. With that experience, we offer our customers options. By designing hybrid structures of both concrete and steel, we can deliver cost-efficient solutions that offer better and longer-term protection for our customers and their equipment.
Further growth continued in 2015 when Fibrebond once again expanded to manufacturing genset enclosures. This division of Fibrebond provides custom power integration and packaging solutions for prime, backup & critical grade customers around the world.
Fibrebond’s innovative spirit and customer focus have led to rapid growth as we continue developing new applications for the industries we serve. And most importantly, Fibrebond’s commitment to customers remains the same.
